Measure out a cup of flour, half a cup of salt, a tablespoon of cream of tartar and a tablespoon of cooking oil and put it all in a saucepan.
This is the bit where you might need an adult.... Boil a kettle of water and measure out a cup of boiling water. Add to it your choice of food colouring and mix it up.
Add the water to the saucepan and stir the mixture over a low heat until it turns into play dough! Take it out the pan, let it cool and then kneed it for a while until it is ready to play with. Keep it in an air tight box.
